Painting with a Master

This is a painting I made while watching Bob Ross’ videos. I tried to learn as much as I can while painting this landscape. I was surprise on how great it looks after I finished it.

Hidden Beauty

Deep within the lavish forest

Slumbers a queen none had seen

The calm sapphire sky, blanket for her rest

Beauty and grandeur, that is all she has been.

Ambiguity of Tomorrow

IMG_20151229_232638.jpg

As the past year reach its conclusion, a doorway to another spreads wide open. Filled with mysteries and ambiguity. Full of potential and threat. But in the midst of the unknown, along the rocky river of ambiguity, and beyond the monumental canyons of uncertainty, artists will find meaning. Because what separates an artist to a builder or a machine but MEANING.

HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!

Woman in Magenta

This is a painting that I spent more than a week doing. Mainly because I painted for about 5-10 mins a day and stopping when I don’t feel like it anymore. It’s not much but I think it came out okay for a newbie.

What You Can Learn Now That Can Change Your Life

organizational-change.jpg   You are reading this right now maybe because you feel empty. Maybe you feel that you are not living up to your potential. You know in yourself that you are capable of amazing things but something is stopping you.

Well, just read on and I’ll share with you a one liner that changed me forever.

“It had long since come to my attention that people of accomplishment rarely sat back and let things happen to them. They went out and happened to things.”

This words are from no other than the great Leonardo da Vinci. Since I’ve come across this quote, mabye 3 or 4 years ago, I began planning of doing great things like a charity for the poor or even saving someone from a burning building. Unfortunately, school kinda pulled me back from these plans. I became busy with studying for tests, my class schedule covers my whole day and when I have free time, I spend them on playing video games because I felt that I was deprived of having fun.

Then recently, I felt an emptiness inside of me. I felt like I’ve spent too much time waiting for something to happen. I convinced my self that the world owes me something and I’m waiting for that debt to be repaid.

This emptiness in me kept growing until one of our teacher pissed me off. I’m not going to further explain what happened. Let’s just say, he is not cut out to be a teacher specially in college.

My experience with this guy kind of gave me an epiphany. That if I keep doing what I’m doing even if I don’t believe it to worth it then I’m gonna be like him. A desperate old man who doesn’t love what he’s doing.

So what did I do? I quit school. I taught myself how to paint and draw. Now, I make a fortune doing what I love. Just kidding. I can’t quit school, I still find it important. Nor do I make a fortune from painting.

What I really did was make a plan. To envision myself 10 years from now. How do I want to be remembered? What contributions would I like to make? Will my role model (for me it’s da Vinci) tell me that he’s proud of me if I get a chance to meet him?

These are the questions that ran into my mind after having that realization. After a few days I was able to finish my plan. I needed to be creative to accomplish my plan so right now, I’m teaching myself how to paint and draw. Sometimes I experiment with clay. It is also why I started blogging. To be able to hone my creativity and share my ideas to others.

My plan was simple. I want to change the world. I want to revolutionize education and the video game industry. I want to change the world by producing immersive games that would teach children the things they tend to have trouble remembering.

I won’t delve more into my plans. My point here is that you should stop thinking that the world owes you anything because it doesn’t. You can die now and the world will still be here. You have to stop waiting for your moment. Stop  letting fate or destiny decide who you will become. Instead go out in the world and do what you love. Do what you believe will make you and others happy. Start changing the world by changing your self (I know, its a little cliche but its true).

I’ll end with a quote by another great man, Steve Jobs:

“the people who are crazy enough to think they can change the world are the ones who do.”

Now go and stop waiting. Go out and happen to things.
